Green Propellants
Definition of "Green Propellants"
These are propellants that are not agressive and toxical to the enviromental.
And its handling is easier and safe comparing to conventional propellants.
Nowadays the space programs in Europe, United States, India and Japan are migrating for the utilization of the Green Propellants instead the propellants like hidrazyn, MMH, UDMH and its derivations and nytrogen tetroxide. (NTO).
The main liquid propellants that are considered "greens" are hydrogen peroxide, methane, ethane, oxygen, hydrogen and nitrous oxide.
In Brazil, the AEB (Brazilian Space Agency) is optimistic about the developing of engines that uses "Green Propellants".
