The beginning of Edge of Space

The "Edge of Space" was born from three main ideas: the wish of developing a rocket that would reach the “Karman´s Line”, meaning the mark of 100 km of altitude from Earth surface; the creation of a technology with the purpose of launching a 1 kg weight satellite, in low orbit, which put us into a next step, like a future project, the accomplishment of a sub-orbital manned flight (nowadays with the space tourism, staring “Edge of Space” as pioneers in Brazil).Finally, the search of rockets and rocket launchers with low costs based on the utilization of the “Green Propellants” such as hydrogen peroxide, liquid oxygen, nitrous oxyde, ethanol and methane are fundamental, and the use of hydrogen peroxide and ethanol are the present choices.

Attached to this last ideia, and for a coming future, is expected the utilization of a hybrid propellant which uses nitrous oxide or LOX and a polymer.
